Family Therapy

Family therapy focuses on the family as a group instead of any one individual. The standard image of family counseling is often a nuclear family with young children, but this is many times not the case. Families can take many forms, including gay and lesbian couples, separated families, step families, and more. Families function as a system, and so have innate strengths. Through counseling and therapy, these strengths can be enhanced and struggles can be overcome.
